Yamaha is also the only personal watercraft brand to have received the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s Customer Satisfaction Index Award every year since the honor was created, which is a track record no competitor can claim.

On top of that, their RiDE dual-throttle system, which lets riders decelerate and reverse using a left-hand lever rather than relying solely on drag, is one of the most useful PWC innovations, especially for beginners.

RiDE stands for Reverse with Intuitive Deceleration Electronics, and it is one of the features that sets Yamaha WaveRunners apart from a handling standpoint.

On a traditional personal watercraft, cutting the throttle does not slow you down quickly because a jet-propelled craft has no drag braking like a car would. RiDE addresses that by giving riders a dedicated left-hand lever that activates deceleration and reverse, making it much easier to slow down, dock, and maneuver in tight spaces.

The FX series is Yamaha’s full-size, full-featured tier, with premium technology, Connext infotainment, and Yamaha Music audio systems built in, geared toward riders who want the most capable and comfortable machine on the water.

Routine upkeep generally includes flushing the engine with fresh water after saltwater or sandy conditions, periodic oil and spark plug changes per the intervals in your owner’s manual, and proper winterization if you store the craft in a cold climate.
